It’s good news for the two midseason CW series whose fate had not been decided. The Vampire Diaries’ spinoff The Originals and Rob Thomas’ iZombie both are getting another season on the CW. The Originals will return for a fifth season and iZombie for season 4.
As it has done in the past couple of years, the CW has given early renewals to its strongest series. The list includes flagship dramas The Vampire Diaries and Arrow, formidable veteran Supernatural and freshmen The Originals and Reign.
The CW’s crop of freshman dramas have all received back-nine orders, the network announced Monday, taking the episode counts for The Originals, Tomorrow People and Reign to 22.
