‘Umbrella Academy’ Unseats ‘Stranger Things’ On Streaming Chart

After four record-breaking weeks, Stranger Things was dethroned from the No. 1 spot in Nielsen’s streaming rankings. Another Netflix series, The Umbrella Academy, took the lead for the week of June 20-26. Its third season premiered June 22, and the show racked up 2.45 billion minutes of viewing time for the week. That was just enough to push Stranger Things (2.33 billion minutes, down from 2.95 billion a week earlier) down to second place.

Netflix’s ‘Umbrella Academy’ Leads Nielsen’s First Streaming Top 10

The Umbrella Academy was the runaway top title on Netflix in its first full week of release, according to figures from Nielsen. The ratings data provider is launching a weekly streaming top 10 list, with the first set of data covering the week of Aug. 3-9. For now, Nielsen measures only programs on Netflix and Amazon, with other streaming providers to be added in the future.
