It’s one and done for NBC’s The Wheel. The U.S. adaptation of the U.K. game show has been canceled after one season. Airing five nights a week over two weeks last December, The Wheel debuted to 1.4 million total viewers and a 0.2 demo rating, and finished with 2.2 mil and a 0.3.

NBC Takes Game Show ‘The Wheel’ For Two-Week Spin In Rare Stripped Scheduling Move

NBC will strip its U.S. remake of hit U.K. game show The Wheel across two weeks in an unusual scheduling move. The series will launch on Dec. 19 at 10 p.m. and will move to 8 p.m. for its second week with new episodes airing nightly.

NBC Orders U.S. Version Of Hit BBC Game Show ‘The Wheel’

NBC has given a 10-episode order to a U.S. adaptation of The Wheel, based on the new U.K. game show that has scored top ratings for the BBC. Since premiering in November, The Wheel has become the BBC’s top-rated game show launch in a decade. The creatives behind the British format, production shingle Hungry McBear and Michael McIntyre (who hosts the U.K. version), will also produce the U.S. edition for NBC, along with Warner Bros. Unscripted Television’s Warner Horizon.
