The Sony-based studio has tapped Dr. Jennifer Turner to serve as EVP, filling the void created in November when former division topper Kathryn Busby departed to head originals at Lionsgate’s Starz. In her new role, Turner will report to Sony Pictures TV Studios Co-President Jason Clodfelter.
Suzanne Patmore Gibbs, the head of Sony Pictures TV’s TriStar Television, has died suddenly. She was 50. No details about the time and cause of death are available. She is believed to have died within the past 24 hours.
After being dormant for more than a decade, the TriStar Television brand is ready to make a comeback as a boutique production unit within Sony Pictures Television. It would be run by Suzanne Patmore Gibbs who would segue to the new position after a three-year stint as EVP of drama development at Sony Pictures Television.
