Fox Picks Kaltura To Power Online Video

Broadening the focus of its “TV Everywhere” initiatives, Fox Digital Media has tapped video platform Kaltura to serve as the foundation of its new video asset management platform. Per the deal, nearly every property overseen by parent Fox Networks Group — including Fox Broadcasting Company and Fox Sports — is expected to make use of the platform.

Comcast, TW Sign Online Streaming Deal

In a first-of-its-kind deal, Comcast and Time Warner moved forward with their vision of “TV Everywhere,” signing a new contract that covers the online streaming of channels like TNT, TBS, CNN and the Cartoon Network. The contract demonstrates that Internet rights for TV shows and channels are becoming increasingly important to distributors as they try to keep up with consumers’ changing habits.

Dish Net Launches ‘TV Everywhere’ App

Dish Network on Thursday launched a “TV Everywhere” service that gives customers access to their subscribed channels on their smartphones, laptops and tablets. The service requires a $99 Sling adapter and a DVR or a DVR with Sling built in. Subscribers also need to download a free Dish remote-access program on to their device. There are no additional monthly service fees to access the content.

Comcast: Google, ‘TV Everywhere’ Don’t Mix

Comcast customers can’t use a Google TV-based device to access authenticated programming on the MSO’s TV Everywhere site — but only because the Internet company’s software is not compatible with the operator’s video players, according to Comcast.
