Paramount Signs $1.5B Deal To Keep US Rights To UEFA Champions League

Paramount Global has extended its U.S. media rights deal with UEFA soccer to continue broadcasting one of the most popular soccer packages on the market until 2030, beating out Amazon, among other competitors. The deal, which includes the rights to the UEFA Champions League, was worth $1.5 billion, according to media reports. ViacomCBS — Paramount Global’s former alias — previously secured the U.S. rights to the soccer federation’s broadcasts through 2024.

Champions League US Soccer Rights Expected To Top $2 Billion

The value of soccer in America is getting its next big test. The Union of European Football Associations will began soliciting bids for the U.S. TV rights to its Champions League matches this week and offers are expected to top $2 billion for a six-year deal, more than double what UEFA gets every year under current agreements, according to people familiar with the organization’s thinking.
