For a second time in its run, CBS’s Unforgettable starring Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh has been canceled. The network made the decision a day after it renewed two summer drama series, Under The Dome and Extant, and killed a third, Reckless.
A month ago CBS canceled the series after its first season. On Friday the network announced it has changed its mind and will bring back the show for 13 episodes to run next summer.
Unforgettable may join the rare category of TV series that have been brought back from the dead. CBS is in talks to revive the Poppy Montgomery-starring drama with a truncated 13-episode order for summer 2013.
The cancellation of CBS’s freshman drama Unforgettable was one of the closest calls this upfront season. Now the procedural is exploring a move to cable. Producers Sony Pictures TV and CBS TV Studios have had preliminary conversations with TNT and Lifetime about picking up the series.
The CBS dramas join the network’s freshman comedy 2 Broke Girls in getting pickups.
