Verizon, Nexstar Warn Of Potential Blackout Friday

Verizon’s Fios TV and Nexstar Media Group are warning viewers that a dispute over retransmission-consent and other distribution fees could result in a programming blackout on Friday. The dispute involves 10 Nexstar TV stations including WPIX New York, Nexstar’s cable channel NewsNation and the Antenna TV digital broadcast network.

NBCU Builds Olympics App For Verizon Fios TV, NCTC Members

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games app will aggregate NBCUniversal’s new and previously developed Olympic content offerings into one place, making Olympic events available in participating Verizon Fios TV homes and National Cable Television Cooperative member homes. The app, which was built by NBCUniversal’s content distribution team, will feature more than 1,000 curated Olympic Games videos on-demand, improved discovery and navigation features, personalization by sport, up-to-date medal standings by sport and dynamic tune-in to NBCUniversal networks in select homes.

BNC Reaches Carriage Deal With Verizon Fios TV

BNC (formerly Black News Channel) has reached a carriage agreement with Verizon Fios TV, extending the reach of the African-American targeted news channel to nearly 60 million linear cable subscribers. The deal allows BNC, which launched in February 2020, to reach more than 3.7 million Verizon Fios TV subscribers.
