There were tense moments over the skies of Boston Tuesday evening. Right around 6 p.m., WCVB’s Sky 5 experienced mechanical problems while flying over the city. The chopper was forced to make a “hard landing” on Boston Common, but fortunately both the pilot and photographer on board were safe.
Hearst’s Boston ABC affiliate plans to replace The Oprah Winfrey Show next fall with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. DeGeneres will move from 9 a.m. to Oprah’s 4 p.m. slot, and WCVB will replace the morning show with Live With Regis and Kelly. And WHDH, which currently airs Regis and Kelly, will replace that show with a new local newscast at 9 a.m. (see story below).
