‘Dr. Phil’ Takes Top Talk Slot For Week, Season
Phil was up 4% to a 2.6 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating for the week ending Aug. 23, while averaging more than 4.4 million viewers for the 2014-15 season, according to the most current ratings. Among magazines, Inside Edition was No. 1 for the week with ET retaining its crown for the season. Family Feud was the session’s top game, with Wheel rolling to the season win. And, of course, Judge Judy was the courtroom topper.
Talk Shows Show Some Pop In Mid-August
Five in the genre post week-to-week gains in the week ending Aug. 16 in spite of lower PUT levels. A handful of shows in the other categories also register plus signs.
Hot Week For ‘Hot Bench’ In Syndie Ratings
The freshman court show has its best week since May despite being in reruns in the week ending Aug. 9. The only talk show moving up week to week was The Doctors, which gained a healthy 11%.

Syndies Spending Summer Treading Water
Most syndicated shows are singing the Summertime Blues in the week ending July 26 as lower PUT levels depress ratings once again. Judge Judy was the only court show to rise; The Doctors was the only talker to improve; TMZ and Dish Nation were the sole gainers in the entertainment magazine category; and Jeopardy was the lone game show to post improvement.

The Steve Harvey-hosted game rules the genre, knocking off usual leader Wheel of Fortune in the week ending June 14. Another upset, Inside Edition bumps Entertainment Tonight out of the top spot among entertainment magazines.
‘Kelly & Michael’ Take Top Talk Title
A week of originals helps it oust Dr. Phil’s reruns from the usual lead spot. Some other talkers post gains in the week ended June 7, with the standout being Wendy Williams, which shot up 31%. The game show race was a tight one with Wheel beating out Jeopardy and Family Feud by a tenth of a point.

Ratings for much of syndication were down in the Memorial Day week ending May 31, with many shows in repeats.
‘Judge Judy’ Rules Syndication In May Sweep
The courtroom is No. 1 with a 6.7 among households, followed by No. 1 game Wheel of Fortune. Dr. Phil was the top talker, while Entertainment Tonight again led the magazines. In off-net, top honors went to Big Bang Theory and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Ratings for the Steve Harvey hosted game show continue to surge, setting new record highs in three of the past four weeks. Feud has already surpassed Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy in several key demos.
