Nexstar taps Chris Turner to head news operations at its CBS affiliates in Jackson, Miss., and Hattiesburg-Laurel, Miss. Both stations also add newscasts.

Jeffrey Guy, a broadcast executive with 28 years of sales and management experience, moves from South Bend’s WBND, WCWW and WMYS to oversee two Mississippi stations.

“Providing our viewers with important weather and safety information during storms is an integral part of our responsibility to our local communities,” said George L. Mahoney, president-CEO of Media General.

Jimmy Cromwell succeeds Robert Romine as VP-GM of WJTV Jackson and WHLT Hattiesburg.
