Residents in Portland, Maine, are facing a single issue to their cost of living that makes residing there almost beyond the reach of most people. “People are very surprised to learn that the cost of living here is so high,” says Amy Beveridge, the news director for WMTW, Hearst’s ABC affiliate.

Amy Beveridge, WMTW’s news director, says the station’s use of Facebook Live during breaking news and severe weather is one reason for its success.
This fall the Hearst Television-owned ABC affiliate in Maine will move inot a new facility that’s large enough to eventually house all of its operations under one roof. The station currently has a headquarters in Auburn and studios in Portland.
Starting Sept. 9, The Hearst-owned ABC affiliate will offer a 5 p.m. broadcast. It will include anchor Tracy Sabol and meteorologist Roger Griswold.
