Michelle Munson Sets Pace On FASP Track

The recipient of this year’s TVNewsCheck’s Women in Technology Leadership Award, Michelle Munson, co-founded Aspera which won an Emmy for its FASP networking technology that transfers large video files at speeds hundreds of times faster than conventional FTP sessions, and with a guaranteed delivery time. The award will be presented at the NAB Show in Las Vegas on Tues., April 19, in Room N227 of the Convention Center.

The recipient of this year’s TVNewsCheck’s Women in Technology Leadership Award, Cindy Hutter Cavell, doesn’t have an engineering degree. Instead, she’s leveraged her instinctual ability and on-the-job training into a 30-year career creating, implementing and directing business strategies across multiple platforms in engineering management posts at ABC News, NBC News, Fox Entertainment, Fox Television Stations, Gannett and the former Hearst Argyle Television.

Balloting Opens For Women In Tech Awards

TVNewsCheck’s 2015 Women in Technology Awards support the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s Technology Apprenticeship Program, which places graduating engineers who are women or people of color in broadcast industry internships. The Women in Technology Leadership Award recognizes women who have contributed significantly toward advancing their industry technologically, while The Technology Women to Watch Awards honor women in radio, TV and digital who show significant promise.
