ABC News Apologizes For Mideast Mistake

ABC News has apologized for mistaking a photo of Palestinians for Israelis. “On Tuesday night World News aired a report on the conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis, including attacks from both sides. In the introduction to the story, we mistakenly identified a family depicted in a still photo,” the network. “They are Palestinian, not Israeli. We regret the error and will correct it.”

New Roles At ABC News For Banner, Corn

Jon Banner, who managed ABC’s nightly newscast World News through nearly a decade of turbulence and through four periods of anchors, is moving off the program and into a special projects position at the news division. Banner, the longest-serving of any of the evening news executive producers, is being succeeded by Michael Corn, a longtime producer of ABC’s Good Morning America.

NBC Wins Feb. News Race, ABC Grows

he February finishing order for the network evening newscasts didn’t look much different, with Brian Williams‘ NBC Nightly News taking top honors, followed by Diane Sawyer’s ABC World News and Katie Couric’s CBS Evening News finishing last. But ABC was the only network to show growth (it was up 1%).
