Comcast Drops Indianapolis Affils In Lafayette
The last of Indianapolis broadcast affiliates disappeared this week from Comcast’s station lineup in Lafayette, Ind., completing a purge of stations after Star City Broadcasting introduced its three network affiliates to the Lafayette market over the past two years.
WPBI Plans Local Weather And News In 2017
Low-power WPBI-LD, Lafayette, Ind,’s new NBC and Fox affiliate, is on track to begin broadcasting local weather reports in January. Mike Reed, president of Waypoint Media, which owns the station, said the weather reports, followed by full newscasts within the first six months of 2017, are still planned despite some recent technical difficulties.
In the home of Purdue University, Bill Christian and Mike Reed have launched a low-power TV station with the dual affiliation and bought four radio stations to go with it.
