Dr. Mehmet Oz will be moving his popular talk show from Fox affiliate WAGA Atlanta to ABC affil WSB in the fall of 2014, replacing Katie Couric’s talk show, WSB GM Tim McVay confirmed.
Dialogue Search Aids WSB Archives Project
WSB Atlanta is the first station to use Nexidia Dialogue, a speech search technology also being used by major cable news networks, including MSNBC. Like most people, WSB Atlanta’s Mark Arum hates commuting. But unlike most, he’s in a position to do something about it. As the traffic reporter for the Cox ABC affiliate — and the company’s two radio stations and newspaper in the city — he’s been keeping Atlanta viewers up to the minute on gridlock and road congestion for 14 years. Cox Is Biggest Fish In Atlanta’s Online Sea
In Atlanta, online media makes up 20% of a slow-growing $2.4 billion local ad pool — a number only expected to hit $2.7 billion by 2016, according to Borrell Associates — and it’s hometown media company Cox Enterprises that makes the biggest splash in that pool, running the market’s top newspaper and TV sites.

Bill Hoffman,GM of Cox Media’s ABC affiliate in Atlanta, announced Tuesday that Channel 2 Action News at 4 p.m. will begin May 26, the day after The Oprah Winfrey Show airs its final new program.
