The fixture in New Orleans television news was killed Friday in a plane crash there while working on a story. She anchored every primetime newscast at Gray Television’s Fox affiliate WVUE during her 22-year tenure in New Orleans. She was 53.

Sources say that Fox wants to trade its WOFL Orlando, Fla., to get WVUE in New Orleans, which is owned by Louisiana Media Co., but run by Raycom. Fox wants to own the Fox station in the Big Easy, home to the NFL New Orleans Saints, a strategy it’s followed before.
