With a week to go in the ratings-intensive November sweeps, Chris Slaughter, news director at the Belo New Orleans CBS affiiate since 2006 and a news staffer there since the late 1970s, has been fired. Evening news anchor Mike Hoss is Slaughter’s interim replacement.
