Greg Conner Named GM Of WXLV-WMYV
Sinclair Broadcast Group has named Greg Conner general manager of its Greensbor, N.C., ABC affiliate WXLV and MNT affil WMYV. Conner joins the duo from Las Vegas where he was director of sales for KVCW and KVMY.
WXLV, TWC Share And Share (News) Alike
As part of a retransmission consent deal, Time Warner Cable’s statewide 24-hour news channel in North Carolina, is producing three newscasts a day for WXLV Greensboro, Sinclair’s ABC affiliate. Executives on both sides of the agreement say their goal is to use the newscasts to lure and hook more viewers, resulting in ratings for WXLV and subscribers for Time Warner Cable.
The GM of WTNZ Knoxville, Tenn., is tapped to lead Sinclair’s ABC-MNT duopoly in Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point, N.C.
Ron Inman is no longer the general manager at Sinclair’s duopoly in Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem, N.C., confirms an operator at the station, who said he left last week. WXLV is an ABC affiliate and WMYX is an MNT affiliate.
Time Warner Cable’s North Carolina news operation, News 14 will produce newscasts at 6:30 a.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. next year for Sinclair’s WXLV Greensboro as part of the recent retransmission consent agreement.
