Veteran Broadcasters And College Students Put New CBS Affiliate On The Air
WZMQ, Lilly Broadcasting’s new CBS affiliate in Marquette, Mich., spent almost a year turning a 150-year-old building into a 21st century television studio. On Oct. 3, the station started airing nightly newscasts at 6 and 11. “We had to build this whole thing from the ground up,” says Brian Trauring, the EVP at Lilly.
New Jobs Posted To TVNewsCheck
New jobs posted to TVNewsCheck’s Media Job Center include openings for an IT engineer, a digital content manager, an anchor, an anchor/reporter, a news anchor/producer, an education reporter, a broadcast engineer, a meteorologist and photojournalist.
Nexstar’s WJMN Marquette, Mich. (DMA 183), announced Thursday, Jan. 20, that it will no longer be a CBS affiliate effective today. It will instead become a My Network TV affiliate. Lilly Broadcasting’s WZMQ Marquette announced a short time later that its ch. 19.2 subcannel picked up the CBS affiliation, also effective today.
