Bonnie Wood New WJLA Community Affairs Director

Sinclair-owned ABC affiliate WJLA Washington (DMA 7) and co-owned cable channel WJLA 24/7 News have named Bonnie Wood as community affairs director.

Wood, a 21-year veteran of the stations, will serve as liaison in the community in both the public and private sectors.

Wood will also work throughout the community to facilitate engagement with the local nonprofit community as well as assist in creating and organizing special events and special programs.

Wood is an award-winning producer and most recently was WJLA’s promotion manager, helping execute the news marketing brand and strategy for both WJLA and WJLA 24/7 News.

Currently on the ABC Marketing Advisory Board, where she has served as chair and represented the Northeast region, Wood is a recipient of PromaxBDA Gold, PromaxBDA Silver and numerous Emmy, ABC Alpha and Virginia Association of Broadcasters awards.
