Danny Walker Named New GM of WTVA
Heartland Media’s NBC-ABC-Ion affiliate WTVA Columbus-Tupelo, Miss. (DMA 133), has promoted Danny Walker to general manager beginning Feb. 15.
He succeeds Jerry Jones who is retiring this week.
Walker joined WTVA as director of sales more than four years ago, coming from WAPT, Jackson, Miss., where he was local sales manager for 11 years. He started his career selling cable advertising before moving to WJTV Jackson, Miss., as an account executive. Subsequently, he ran his own advertising agency in Jackson for 7 years.
Walker is a 1988 graduate of Mississippi State University.
