Denise Vickers Named WFXG Augusta GM

She moves to the Lockwood Fox affiliate from WHNT Huntsville, Ala., following its spinoff as part of the Gray-Raycom merger.

Lockwood Broadcast Group today appointed Denise Vickers general manager of its Fox affiliate WFXG Augusta, Ga. (DMA 105).

Vickers brings more than 20 years of broadcast news and station management experience to her first GM role. Most recently, she was the station manager and VP of news at WHNT Huntsville, Ala.

“During our time in Huntsville we had a front row seat to see the amazing job she did at WHNT,” said Dave Hanna, Lockwood Broadcast Group president. (Lockwood owned Huntsville CW affiliate WHDF from 2004 to 2018.) “Denise brings a style and focus that is a perfect fit for Augusta and for our group”

WFXG is one of four Fox affiliates acquired by Lockwood at the close of the Gray-Raycom merger on Jan. 1.
