Guthrie To Stay On As CEO Of Apollo/Cox
As expected, Kim Guthrie isn’t going anywhere.
Cox Media Group confirmed today she will continue as head of the station group after its acquisition by an Apollo private equity fund is approved by the FCC and closes.
She will carry the title of chief executive officer.
Prior to being named president of CMG in 2016, Guthrie was president of CoxReps and EVP of the national ad platform business which includes Gamut and Videa.
Before that, she was EVP of radio where she was responsible for all programming, operations and sales for CMG’s radio division.
With a background in journalism, she began her more than 21-year career with Cox in 1998 as VP and GM for its Long Island, N.Y., radio stations.
Guthrie played a key role in the formation of CMG more than a decade ago when she was one of the first group VPs, overseeing a group of radio and television markets.
