Longtime WLWT GSM Mark Diangelo To Retire

He began his broadcast career in radio before spending 21 years at the Hearst NBC affiliate in Cincinnati.

WLWT announced today that longtime General Sales Manager Mark Diangelo will retire later this year, capping a long career in both television and radio sales.

Diangelo began with WLWT as an account executive in 1998 before being promoted to local sales manager in 2000. In 2003 he was promoted to general sales manager, leading the revenue generation efforts of WLWT, MeTV Cincinnati and the station’s comprehensive digital properties.

“Mark is an outstanding and skilled leader who has delivered record levels of performance during his 21 years at WLWT, leading our sales team to new heights in both television and digital revenue,” said Branden Frantz, WLWT president-GM. “Mark’s passion to deliver results for our clients, his team, and Hearst Television has ultimately distinguished him as a leader not only in our market, but in our industry. He has cemented his legacy at WLWT, in Cincinnati, and with Hearst Television, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his contributions,” Frantz added.

“Over the past 21 years, I have been blessed to work with some of the most talented people in the industry,” said Diangelo. “From our Hearst Television corporate staff, to my peers within the company, to our team at WLWT, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity, support, and encouragement that I have received over the years. I am excited about the future of WLWT and wish all my colleagues continued success.”

Prior to WLWT, Diangelo had 20 years of experience and a long history of radio sales management and ownership roles. He was the local sales manager and general sales manager of WVAE-FM Cincinnati, general sales manager of WTKT-FM in Lexington, Ky., and VP-GM of KPLV-FM/KSTE-FM in Texas.

Diangelo attended Eastern Kentucky University.
