Nexstar Ups Amy Doane To VP-GM Of WNCT

The veteran broadcasting executive with nearly 30 years of sales and marketing experience is tapped to lead Its Greenville, N.C., CBS-CW operation.

Nexstar Broadcasting today promoted Amy Doane to vice president and general manager of its broadcast and digital operations in Greenville, N.C. (DMA 100), overseeing WNCT (CBS), ENCT (CW) and wnct.com. She assumes her new responsibilities immediately and report to Traci Wilkinson, Nexstar Broadcasting senior vice president and regional manager.

Doane brings nearly 30 years of experience in broadcast television marketing and sales and a deep understanding of Nexstar’s Greenville operations to her new role, having served as general sales manager there since 2015, overseeing all revenue operations.

She joined WNCT in 2013 as local sales manager. Prior to joining Nexstar, Doane held a series of local sales and management positions of increasing responsibility in a variety of markets across the country, including Wichita, Kan.; Nashville; and Raleigh, N.C.

According to Nexstar, during her tenure in Greenville, Doane and her sales team consistently grew WNCT’s broadcasting and digital revenue. She was instrumental in the opening of a new regional station operation in Jacksonville, N.C., extending WNCT’s reach and service for viewers and clients in the southeast area of the state.

She was involved in the development of The East’s Daily Download, a 30-minute lifestyle show launched in August 2019. Doane also initiated “Caring for Carolina” in Greenville, a broad-based community program that helps residents in need through a variety of annual charitable events.

Doane graduated from the University of Tennessee/Knoxville with a degree in communications.
