Sale Of KWKB Iowa City Closes

KM Communications, owned by the Bae family based in Chicago, has closed on the sale announced in June 2018 of KWKB Iowa City to HC2 Holdings for $1,850,000.

KM Communications, owned by the Bae family based in Chicago, has closed on the sale announced in June 2018 of KWKB Iowa City (DMA 91), to HC2 Holdings for $1,850,000.

KWKB broadcasts from its own 1,345-foot tower with 1,000 kw of power from a location just outside of West Branch, Iowa. The Bae family also owns WOCK-CD in Chicago.

Buyer principal is Philip Falcone. HC2 Holdings owns television stations in Miami; Austin, Texas; Philadelphia, San Diego and Phoenix among other markets.

George W. Kimble of Kozacko Media Services, brokered the deal.
