Qualified Scripps employees can apply for up to $1,000 for eligible expenses related to hardships caused by COVID-19.
Scripps Fund To Provide Virus Assistance
Employees of The. E.W. Scripps Co. adversely affected by the coronavirus outbreak and the disease it causes, COVID-19, may receive up to $1,000 through the Scripps COVID-19 Employee Fund.
The COVID-19 Employee Fund is administered by the Scripps Howard Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, and will help full- and part-time Scripps employees who have experienced hardships as a result of COVID-19.
Hardship could be caused by loss of family income or increased personal expenses related to the outbreak, declared a national disaster on March 13. Eligible expenses include:
- Food and basic household supplies.
- Housing-related assistance, including but not limited to, mortgage, rent and utility payments.
- Childcare or eldercare costs.
- Other needs, excluding medical, to be considered on a case-by-case basis.
