Tammy Blumhagen Named Nexstar’s North Dakota GM

Nexstar Media Group on Tuesday promote Tammy Blumhagen to vice president and general manager of KXMB (CBS), KXMC (CBS), KXMD (CBS), KXMA (CW) and associated digital services, serving Minot, Bismarck, Dickinson and Williston, N.D. (DMA 146).

Prior to her promotion, she most recently was director of sales at Nexstar’s central and western North Dakota television and digital operations. Blumhagen will assume her new responsibilities immediately and report to Julie Pruett, Nexstar SVP and regional manager.

A North Dakota native Blumhagen has more than 17 years of experience in the broadcast industry and has spent the majority of her career serving local communities in the Minot, Bismarck, Dickinson and Williston market. She brings to her new role at Nexstar expertise in local and national sales management, personnel training, local programming and content production, business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms.

As director of sales at KXMB, KXMC, KXMD and KXMA, Blumhagen developed and led sales teams and implemented multi-platform marketing initiatives that resulted in increased broadcast and digital revenues. In addition, she established programming partnerships and launched mobile content strategies.

Before Nexstar’s acquisition of Reiten Television’s central and western North Dakota CBS station affiliates in early 2016, Blumhagen was corporate sales manager for Reiten where she was responsible for developing revenue-generating strategies for the stations’ local programming and leading all aspects of sales across its local, national and digital advertising verticals.

Prior to that, she was owner and principal consultant of Blueprint Media where she provided strategic direction, branding, media planning and creative concept development services to local businesses.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Earlier in her career, Blumhagen was a local sales manager for Reiten. She began her broadcast career in 1999 as an account executive for Forum Communications.
