After starting her broadcast career at the Denver Telemundo outlet 18 years ago, she moves from director of local and regional sales for the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations to lead KDEN.

The Telemundo Station Group on Monday appointed Tatiana Argüello president and general manager of KDEN Denver (DMA 17).

She succeeds Andrés Chaparro who left in January and will be responsible for leading all station operations including news/digital, sales, marketing/promotions, human resources, community affairs, and technology/operations.

Her first day at KDEN will be May 6. She leaves her role as NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ director of local and regional sales. Argüello will report to Manuel Martinez, president of the Telemundo Station Group.

Argüello returns to KDEN after launching her career in local broadcasting there as an intern, 18 years ago. Earlier this year, Argüello was promoted to director of local and regional sales for the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division after working as the Telemundo Station Group’s Northeast national sales director since 2014. In this role, Argüello managed all northeast national sales operations for the Telemundo owned and affiliate stations, developed new business and created cross-cultural marketing campaigns that helped to grow the station group’s advertising revenue.

Before that, Argüello was national sales manager for Telemundo’s WNJU New York from 2008 to 2014. Argüello moved to New York after working at KDEN from 2001 to 2008 and holding various roles with increasing responsibility including national sales manager.

Argüello is a member of the development program called She Leads that was launched by the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division in 2018 for high-potential NBC/Telemundo owned station female sales leaders to provide them with the mentoring, tools and exposure they need to acquire leadership roles within the owned stations division and NBCUniversal.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

A Colorado native, Argüello earned a bachelor’s of science degree in operations management and a certificate in international business from the University of Colorado, Leeds School of Business.
