Charlie Henrich Jr. Named WHNS VP-GM

The former GM of KMEG-KPTH Sioux City, Iowa, is picked to oversee Meredith’s Fox affiliate in Greenville, S.C., succeeding Les Vann.

Meredith Corp.’s Fox affiliate WHNS Greenville, S.C. (DMA 38) appointed Charlie Henrich Jr. vice president and general manager, effective June 3. He replaces Les Vann who left earlier this year.

Most recently, Henrich was GM of KMEG and KPTH Sioux City, Iowa. Prior to that, he was VP-GM of WFTX Fort Myers, Fla., from 2013 to 2016 and VP of operations for Newport Television overseeing stations in Jacksonville, Fla.; Memphis; Mobile, Ala.; Rochester, N.Y.; Syracuse, N.Y.; and Tulsa, Okla., from 2008 to 2013.

He began his career in television sales as a local account executive at KTVF Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1991 and moved up through the ranks selling locally and nationally as an account executive in both large and small markets. He held sales management positions including general sales manager of KTNV Las Vegas and director of sales at WKEF-WRGT Dayton, Ohio.

Henrich earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications from the University of Minnesota.
