Chris Protzman To Lead Lockwood’s Knoxville Duopoly

The veteran Knoxville executive is chosen to succeed Neal Davis as GM of WTNZ (Fox) and WKNX (independent).

Lockwood Broadcast Group today named Chris Protzman as the new general manager of its WTNZ (Fox) and WKNX (independent) in Knoxville, Tenn. He is replacing Neal Davis, who announced his retirement in July.

Protzman brings more than 20 years of experience as a broadcast executive, and has been in the Knoxville market since 2004. He most recently was president of Summit Media’s Knoxville operations. Prior to that he held progressive senior and regional management positions for E.W. Scripps until Summit acquired the market.
