Chris Wayland Named WBTS-WNEU-NECN Station Manager

NBCU today appointed Chris Wayland senior vice president and station manager of its Boston (DMA 9) properties: WBTS (NBC), WNEU (Telemundo) and cable channel NECN.

He will oversee the sales, finance, marketing, and digital departments for all three. He will report to Mike St. Peter, president-GM of the three.

Wayland joins NBCUniversal’s Boston stations from WPIX New York where he was SVP-GM. Prior to this, Wayland worked at Tribune Media as VP of group operations.

Before his work at Tribune, Wayland worked for Sunbeam Television for nearly 10 years and held numerous roles with increasing responsibility including EVP-GM of WHDH-WLVI Boston, and WSVN Miami, and general station manager and general sales manager of WHDH Boston.

He launched his career at WLVI Boston more than 20 years ago, and completed his undergraduate degree at Elmira College in New York.
