Hubbard Names Richard Reingold WHEC VP-GM

The former GM of WCTI New Bern, N.C., takes over leadership of the Rochester, N.Y., NBC affiliate on July 23.

Richard Reingold, a veteran broadcast executive with local news leadership experience, is the new vice president and general manager of Hubbard Broadcasting’s NBC and MeTV affiliate WHEC Rochester, N.Y. (DMA 76). He will join the station on July 23.

Reingold brings many years of experience in station management to the new job. His most recent position was as VP-GM of WCTI New Bern, N.C.  Prior to his role at WCTI, Reingold held similar positions at NBC Montana (KECI-KCFW-KTVM), WUSA Washington and NBC Asia.

In addition to working at local stations, Reingold ventured into station ownership and was a co-founder of Four Points Media Group, which operated seven TV stations in four markets.

Reingold also has an extensive news background. He was news director for television stations in major U.S. markets including, Washington, Cleveland, Chicago and Baltimore.  Earlier, he was assistant news director at WCBS New York.

Reingold earned his bachelor degree in American studies at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.  He received a Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
