J.R. Jackson Named GM Of Nexstar In Fresno

The veteran media executive returns to the Central Valley to lead the group’s KSEE (NBC), KGPE (CBS) duopoly and YourCentralValley.com.

Nexstar Media Group today appointed J.R. Jackson vice president and general manager of KSEE (NBC), KGPE (CBS) and  associated mobile/digital operations, including YourCentralValley.com, serving  Fresno, Calif. (DMA 55).

He replaces Matthew Rosenfeld who was recently promoted to senior vice president and regional manager of Nexstar Broadcasting. Jackson assumes his new responsibilities immediately. He will report to Rosenfeld.

Jackson joins Nexstar from KVAL-KMTR Eugene, Ore., where he was VP-GM. The appointment is a homecoming for Jackson, who worked for nearly a decade in Fresno as general sales manager at KMPH and KFRE.

Prior to living in Central Valley, he was general sales manager for KOVR Sacramento, Calif.

Jackson has extensive executive broadcast experience in major television markets throughout the country, with expertise in station and sales management, client and revenue development, and local programming and content creation across multiple media platforms.

He held a variety of sales positions of increasing responsibility earlier in his career, serving as a local sales manager at KPIX San Francisco and later as director of sales on behalf of CBS Radio (now Entercom) stations in Dallas
