KEYC Names Jeffrey Marks Interim GM

The former Gray Television executive succeeds Marvin Rhodes as head of United Communications Corp.’s CBS-Fox affiliate in Mankato, Minn.

United Communications Corp.’s CBS-Fox affiliate KEYC Mankato, Minn. (DMA 199) on Friday appointed Jeffrey Marks as interim station general manager and left to become GM of KTTC Rochester, Minn.

Marks arrives at KEYC following the resignation of Marvin D. Rhodes as general manager. Rhodes served the company for five-and-a-half years and has been named GM of KTTC Rochester, Minn.

Marks is currently a consultant in broadcasting and journalism and has served as director for talent development for Gray Television, the owner of television stations in more than 50 markets.

For more than eight years, he was president and GM of WDBJ Roanoke, Virginia. Marks has also been GM of WAGT Augusta, Ga.; WLBZ Bangor, Maine; and News 12 New Jersey, an all-news regional cable channel.

United Communications President-Owner Lucy Brown said: “We are extremely fortunate that Jeff is taking on this responsibility. We look forward to working with him and benefiting from his vast experience.”

Brown added: “KEYC News 12 and UCC thank Marvin Rhodes for his service and leadership to the station and the greater Mankato community.  We wish him well in his new endeavors.”
