Larry Forsgren New GM Of Nexstar’s Champaign Duopoly

Nexstar Media today appointed Larry Forsgren vice president and general manager of its broadcasting and digital operations in Champaign-Springfield, Ill., at WCIA (CBS), WCIX (MNT) and WCIA.com. He begins his duties immediately and reports to Traci Wilkinson, senior vice president and regional manager for Nexstar Broadcasting.

With a career in broadcasting management and sales of 25-plus years, Forsgren is familiar with Nexstar and its station group, having worked previously as sales director for WMBD and WYZZ, Nexstar’s stations in Peoria, Ill. He joins Nexstar from KMTV Omaha, Neb., where he was vice president and general manager.

Prior to leading KMTV, Forsgren was director of sales at the station, and before that, he held leadership positions of increasing responsibility at television stations in Omaha, Madison, Wis., and Yakima, Wash.
