Marian Davey Named KMSP-WFTC GM

Fox Television Stations promotes her from news director to oversee all aspects of the Fox-MNT Minneapolis duopoly.

Marian Davey today was appointed senior vice president and general manager of the Fox-owned duopoly in Minneapolis — KMSP (Fox) and WFTC (MNT). She succeeds Sheila Oliver, who was named SVP-GM of Fox’s Seattle duopoly KCPQ-KZJO last month.

Jack Abernethy, chief executive officer of Fox Television Stations, wo whom Davey reports, said: “Mim has done a stellar job in leading the KMSP-Fox 9 news team for the past eight years. Her past success and understanding of the market, coupled with her local news expertise and results-driven attitude, make her the natural choice to lead our Minneapolis duopolies.”

Davey has been with the Fox-owned duopoly in Minneapolis for nearly 20 years. Most recently, she has been VP- news director since August 2013. Under her leadership, the duopoly had its largest expansion of local news programming in its history.

Previously, Davey held the roles of managing editor and assistant news director for the stations. Prior to joining Fox, she spent 14 years at WCCO Minneapolis, in various roles from intern to producer to managing editor.
