Marquee Broadcasting Names Gene Steinberg COO

The broadcasting veteran succeeds the retiring Linda Gray in overseeing the company’s TV stations in Georgia, Kentucky and Maryland.

Gene Steinberg has been appointed chief operating officer for Marquee Broadcasting and its related companies.

Marquee owns and operates WGTA Atlanta; WMDT-WGDV Salisbury, Md.; WNKY Bowling Green, Ky.; WPGA Macon, Ga.; and WSST-WSWG Albany, Ga. Marquee has affiliation agreements with ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, MeTV and MyNetworkTV.

“Gene’s extensive background in both major and small market television adds great strength to our team at Marquee Broadcasting,” said Patricia Lane, CEO of Marquee. “Gene will take over the role from Linda Gray, who will retire at the end of the year with our many thanks.”

“As the broadcasting landscape continues to change, I am excited to join a family-owned broadcast group who believes that local television matters” Steinberg said.

Steinberg’s background includes television stations in Miami, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Columbia, Mo., and Palm Springs, Calif. He also worked for Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
