NAB Appoints Three To Boards Of Directors

Catherine Badalamente and Phil Tahtakran join the association’s TV Board, while Kevin Godwin is appointed to the Radio Board.

Catherine Badalamente, president and CEO of Graham Media Group, and Phil Tahtakran, SVP, head of federal government affairs for NBCUniversal, were named to the NAB Television Board of Directors, and Kevin Godwin, SVP of Townsquare Media, was appointed to the NAB Radio Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Catherine Badalamente

In her role with Graham Media Group, Badalamente oversees the company’s TV stations in seven local media hubs representing just under 7% of the U.S. In addition, she oversees Graham Digital, a digital media and technology development group, and Social News Desk, a leading provider of social media management tools designed to connect newsrooms with their users.

Badalamente previously was Graham’s vice president, chief innovation officer and vice president, digital media. She is chair of the board of directors of the Local Media Association, serves as treasurer of the board of the Local Media Foundation and is a member of the board of the Alliance for Women in Media. She was the recipient of the Digital Leadership Award from NAB in 2017. Badalamente is a graduate of John Carroll University with a B.A. in communications.

Phil Tahtakran

Tahtakran leads NBCUniversal’s federal government affairs team and represents the company before Congress and the administration on legislative priorities and other policy issues impacting the company. he serves as NBCUniversal’s representative in various trade associations and coalitions focused on entertainment, broadcasting, telecom and travel policy issues. Additionally, Tahtakran is part of the senior NBCUniversal leadership team and senior legal team.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Before joining NBCUniversal in 2010, he spent several years as a senior aide in congressional offices in the Senate and House of Representatives. He holds a J.D. degree from The George Washington University Law School and a B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Kevin Godwin

Godwin oversees operations, business development and performance for Townsquare Media’s West Region. He previously was senior vice president of Peak Broadcasting, which Townsquare Media acquired in November of 2013. He previously worked for Citadel Communications between 1994 and 2007.

Godwin holds a B.A. in business administration and marketing from Washington State University in Pullman. While earning his degree, he began his career as an account executive and general sales manager for the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication’s student-run KUGR-FM.
