NBCU To Give $2.5M In ‘Project Innovation’ Grants

The NBCUniversal Foundation, in partnership with NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, a division of NBCUniversal, today announced the return of Project Innovation in 11 communities across the country.

Project Innovation is a competitive grant challenge that will award nearly $2.5 million in grants in 2019, to local nonprofit organizations that are addressing local community issues through innovative solutions in the areas of storytelling, community engagement, culture of inclusion and youth education.

Grant applications open on Jan. 11, 2019, and close on Feb. 15, 2019. Applications can be previewed at www.nbcuprojectinnovation.com. To preview the application in Spanish, visit www.nbcuproyectoinnovacion.com. Project Innovation 2019 grant winners will be announced in April 2019.

“As local broadcasters, it is part of our responsibility to empower and inspire positive change in our communities. Our 2018 Project Innovation grant winners are doing amazing things to help grow and develop our youth and overall create stronger communities.  We couldn’t be more proud of them. Last year, a total of $2.475 million in Project Innovation grants were presented to 62 nonprofit organizations in 11 markets. The organizations were selected by the NBC and Telemundo stations for their outstanding programs that sought to address local community challenges.
