NBCU Picks McConville To Oversee Ad Platforms

As EVP of ad platforms and operations, Ryan McConville will lead a team dedicated to cross-portfolio advertising technology and platform solutions to improve the commercial experience and drive impact for brands.

NBCUniversal Advertising & Partnerships today announced the appointment of Ryan McConville to the newly-created role of executive vice president, ad platforms and operations, unifying oversight of advertising technology and platform solutions.

NBCUniversal said the McConville hire comes as the company “doubles-down on its investments in new technologies in support of its continued commitment to provide the best experience to advertisers and viewers alike.”

Reporting to Krishan Bhatia, NBCUniversal’s EVP of business operations and strategy, McConville is tasked with building a team to develop technology-driven strategies that include commercial innovations and AI-powered targeting, while making it easy for advertisers to tap into of NBCUniversal’s portfolio of premium content and global scale.

McConville will be responsible for overall product management including developing and executing the product roadmap across all ad tech solutions, integrations, systems and platforms. McConville will also act as an executive liaison between Advertising & Partnerships and NBCUniversal’s broader technology, engineering and product teams, in addition to external technology partners.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, McConville was president and chief operating officer of KARGO, responsible for building the company’s global mobile advertising business, leading the product, technology, operations, sales and partnerships functions.

Before KARGO, McConville served in various leadership and development roles at ad-tech platform Vdopia and prior to that at Bauer Media and Wenner Media.
