Nexstar Makes SVP, Regional Mgr. Appointments

Matthew Rosenfeld and Traci Wilkinson are promoted to newly created regional management positions overseeing Nexstar’s television and digital media operations in select markets.

Nexstar Media Group today announced that Matthew Rosenfeld and Traci Wilkinson have been promoted to senior vice president and regional manager of Nexstar Broadcasting.

The company said the appointments reflect Nexstar’s strategy to promote from within and from acquired entities “by identifying proven broadcast and digital media leaders to oversee its assets on a regional basis.”

Rosenfeld and Wilkinson’s promotions are effective immediately upon the completion of Nexstar’s acquisition of Tribune Media, which is expected to occur in third quarter of 2019.

In their new roles, Rosenfeld and Wilkinson will work across the Nexstar organization and with other corporate personnel to improve operating efficiencies and the effectiveness and service of the company’s operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for executing and monitoring plans to ensure the company achieves corporate and regional business objectives and financial goals.

Matthew Rosenfeld joined Nexstar following the company’s acquisition of Granite Broadcasting and Newport Television assets in March 2013 and brings over two decades of broadcasting and sales management experience to his new role.

He currently is VP-GM of KSEE (NBC), KGPE (CBS) and YourCentralValley.com serving Fresno, Calif. (DMA 54). Prior to his tenure in California, Rosenfeld was the president-GM of WTVH (CBS) in Syracuse, N.Y., and WBNG (CBS/CW) in Binghamton, N.Y.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Earlier in his broadcasting career, he served in various sales management and account executive roles at Syracuse stations WSTM, WSTQ, WSPX and WTVH.

Traci Wilkinson brings more than 25 years of broadcasting and sales management experience to her new role. She joined Nexstar in November 2016 when the company acquired assets from Meredith Corp. and currently is VP-GM Manager of KASW (CW) and yourphx.com in Phoenix (DMA 12).

Prior to joining Nexstar, Wilkinson was director of sales for KTVK Phoenix and KASW. Before her tenure in Phoenix, she served in various sales management and account executive positions in Seattle at KHTP- FM, KONG-TV and NWCN.

Wilkinson began her media career in 1994 as a local account executive for Comcast Cable in Tacoma, Wash.

Commenting on the appointments, Tim Busch, president of Nexstar Broadcasting, said: “As we continue building the company through a disciplined approach, Nexstar’s strategy of identifying leading talent in our organization and at acquired entities enables us to appoint proven broadcast and digital media leaders. Matthew and Traci bring a track record of delivering industry-leading innovation, revenue growth and meticulous M&A integration to their new roles and this focus has been fundamental to our consistent long-term success.”
