Ofelia Castiblanco Named WPIX Station Manager

Ofelia Castiblanco

Mission Broadcasting has promoted Ofelia Castiblanco to station manager and community affairs director of its newly acquired WPIX New York. This comes on the heels of Mission’s acquisition of the station from E.W. Scripps Co. on Dec. 30, 2020.

Castiblanco became the station’s community affairs director in January 2020. Just prior to joining the station, she was director of external affairs for Hope Community, an East Harlem based nonprofit.

Previously, Castiblanco worked at WNBC New York and Telemundo’s WNJU New York for nearly 20 years; she served as director of community affairs, overseeing the station’s strategic partnerships, grants, events, nonprofit forums, and cause marketing. She also established WNBC’s “4 Our Communities” brand highlighting local community stories on-air and through social media.

Ofelia and her parents immigrated to the United States from Columbia in the early 1970s. She graduated from City University of New York, majoring in business administration.
