TV2025 Conference Targets Monetization Amid Accelerating Change

TVNewsCheck’s annual TV2025: Monetizing the Future conference, to be presented virtually this year, will tackle opportunities for revenue growth in an industry buffeted by COVID-19, an economic downturn and accelerating consolidation in the media and entertainment sector. Register here.

Facing headwinds from a challenged economy, audience migration to digital platforms and, longer term, an anticipated slowdown in the growth of subscriber revenue, leaders of the local TV industry will gather to talk about mining opportunity from a changing media ecosystem during TVNewsCheck’s TV2025: Monetizing the Future.

Set for Oct. 20-23, and presented as part of NAB Show New York, the conference will feature highlights such as Leadership in a Time of Accelerating Change, a panel session with the CEOs of three major station groups and one up-and-comer talking about the outlook for their industry.

Other panels will include NextGen TV: Ready for Primetime?; Optimizing Audiences: Turn an Audience Bump Into a Long-Term Trend; Remote Workflows and the Future of TV Station Operations; IP & the Cloud: A Road Map for Future Revenue Opportunities; Optimizing Spot TV in a Challenging Economy; and Bolstering the Local and Regional Content Pipeline.

TVNewsCheck will also present its Station Group of the Year Award to NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations in a ceremony that will include an interview with the group’s president, Valari Staab, on Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. ET.

“This year has likely been the most consequential for television in a generation, and TV2025 will zero in on the key areas executives will need to navigate going forward,” said TVNewsCheck Editor Michael Depp. “Our focus will be on the impact of media and entertainment industry consolidation on broadcasting; direct-to-consumer product growth and its impact on the network-affiliate relationship; NextGen TV’s looming impact; and technology changes that are accelerating in the wake of widespread at-home production and operations ushered in by the COVID-19.”

Attendees will participate in live, daily, two-and-a-half-hour sessions on Zoom Webinar, where they can pose questions to speakers, participate in live audience polling and wrap up the day with half-hour, open-mic Roundtables on key issues. They can also participate in conversations on the TV2025 Chat Channel on NAB Show New York’s virtual conference platform, where attendees can also attend sessions presented by NAB and visit a virtual exhibition.
