Despite strong headwinds from the COVID-19 pandemic, the NextGen TV rollout has continued across 20 markets this year. Executives helping to drive it along will analyze what they’ve been learning about its business potential and how consumers are reacting to the technology during a panel at TVNewsCheck’s TV2025: Monetizing the Future conference, presented virtually from Oct. 20 to 23 as part of NAB Show New York.

“NextGen TV’s rollout has persevered across about a third of its intended markets this year with plenty of insights to share on consumers responses, marketing strategies and navigating the legal hassles involved in forming partnerships for SFNs, lighthouse stations and other forms of cooperation,” said TVNewsCheck Editor Michael Depp. “Todd, Rick, John and Erik will apprise us with the latest on what’s coalescing around NextGen TV’s full monetization potential.”

TVNewsCheck will also present its Station Group of the Year Award to NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations in a ceremony that will include an interview with the group’s president, Valari Staab, on Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. ET.

Attendees will participate in live, daily, two-and-a-half-hour sessions on Zoom Webinar, where they can pose questions to speakers, participate in live audience polling and wrap up the day with half-hour, open-mic Roundtables on key issues. They can also participate in conversations on the TV2025 Chat Channel on NAB Show New York’s virtual conference platform, where attendees can also attend sessions presented by NAB and visit a virtual exhibition.
