Attendees at TVNewsCheck’s fourth annual Cybersecurity for Broadcasters Retreat will experience a simulated attack, working in groups to respond and secure their companies’ facilities while racing to communicate with company employees, law enforcement, the C-suite and board members.

Designed to train attendees to react quickly and calmly to an actual attack, the simulation will wrap up with an outline of best practices attendees may take back to their technology, IT and security teams.

MOXFIVE, a specialized technical advisory firm founded to help minimize the business impact of cyber-attacks, will present the simulation at CBR 2022, which is set to take place, for the first time, at NAB Show New York on Oct. 17-18. Crucially, the simulation will involve an attack on the broadcast environment, providing technology, IT and security executives, managers and professionals with hands-on experience at responding to attacks on critical infrastructure.

“The incident response simulation will highlight the opening day of CBR 2022, providing attendees with cutting-edge information about the evolving world of cybersecurity attacks and how to respond to them,” said Kathy Haley, TVNewsCheck co-founder and publisher. “Attendees can take what they learn during the simulation and apply it to what they are learning on the retreat’s full day of educational sessions on Tuesday, Oct. 18.”

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“MOXFIVE has seen firsthand the unique and complex challenges businesses face when dealing with the impact of a cyber incident – ranging from protecting intellectual property and content, to containing the incident to minimize production disruptions, to rapidly recovering operations,” Rogers said. “With these challenges in mind, we’re excited to build a simulation that will help broadcasters of all sizes gain an understanding of how ready – or not ready – their teams may be for responding to a cyber-attack and what they should do now to further prepare.”

CBR 2022 will gather technology, IT and security executives, managers and professionals from media and entertainment companies, and their partners in the broadcast technology community, to converse, in a highly private environment, about the unique challenges they face securing their companies.

Sessions will include two hour-long Private Information Exchanges, allowing media company technology, IT and security executives, managers and professionals to confer privately on issues they are facing and projects they are working on. Executives, managers and professionals from broadcast technology companies attending CBR will gather in their own Private Information Exchanges, where they can confer on issues facing their sector of the industry.

Educational sessions at CBR 2022 will include:

  • Security and the Modernization of Broadcast Technology
  • Security Governance for Media and Entertainment Companies
