Sixteen months of remote production in the media industry have led television’s engineering and IT leaders to focus on new opportunities for innovation in production workflows and facilities design. A July 29 TVNewsCheck webinar, sponsored by Teradici, Microsoft and Avid, will explore what’s been learned and how it will help organizations create more programming for more outlets and with new efficiency and security.

Mike Kralec is VP technical operations and deputy CTO at Sinclair Broadcast Group, where his focus is on transformation for media operations and ATSC 3.0 commercialization. Prior to that and from 2014 he served as VP data systems and information technology services where he focused on capturing technology value through advances in enterprise mobility, program/service delivery, security, governance and data management. From 2010, he was director, data systems development and from 2005, he served as systems development manager. From 2000 to 2005 he was a software developer.
Ray Thompson, senior director, partner and industry marketing at Avid, brings 25 years of business development, sales and product management and marketing experience to his work, which is focused on sports, media and e-sports. His extensive work in media includes development of an IP live streaming platform strategy for sending SD, HD and 4K video over a standard IP connection from anywhere to anywhere at broadcast quality and at low latency to mobile and the web; transformation of a start-up software company from a video editing focus for sports to content licensing and management/distribution of college sports assets via the web to college sports fans; release of a high-performance graphics chip, landing a large-scale bid a primary provider of the graphics processor for Microsoft’s Xbox 360; and a vital leadership role in the full-phase startup of a pioneering software company reaching $26 million in annual revenue, and playing leadership role in positioning and sale of company.
Tim Murphy is a principal program manager in the Azure Media & Entertainment team, where his role focuses on fostering innovative and new ways of working across Azure partners and clients, by mapping client requirements to core product and services development efforts. In this role, Tim sponsors many strategic partnerships with both vendors and clients – many of which have led to industry cloud first deployments.
Kevin Brosnan, solutions architect at Teradici, focuses on driving adoption of remote desktop solutions like Teradici CAS for the broadcast industry. He works closely with the Teradici product teams to understand future developments and provides customer feedback to influence roadmap. By also working closely with ISVs, OEMs and cloud partners, Kevin has a broad understanding of the broadcast industry and how key technologies can be integrated for the best remote desktop experience.
