WCAV Makes New Key Hires In Sales Department

Lockwood Broadcast Group’s WCAV (CBS), WVAW (ABC) and WAHU (Fox) in Charlottesville, Va., have hired two broadcast veterans to help expand the station group’s sales efforts in Central Virginia.

Bill Lanesey joins WCAV as general sales manager. He has served in a number of high-profile broadcast sales and management positions including general manager in St. Louis and Cincinnati. Most recently, Lanesey was GM of KOKH Oklahoma City. He has an extensive background in driving sales revenue as well as creating partnerships with local businesses and community organizations.

Tina Wood has been named national sales manager. She most recently was operations manager and national sales manager at WHSV Harrisonburg, Va., and has decades of media experience in Central Virginia. In a bit of a homecoming, Wood served as WCAV’s first national sales manager when the station signed on the air in 2004 and was establishing its sales efforts.

Bill and Tina join Cheryl Duncan who is local sales manager and oversees community projects. She is celebrating more than 15 years at WCAV and directly manages local sales initiatives and the WCAV team of marketing consultants.

“I cannot be more thrilled to announce that Bill and Tina have joined our sales department,” CBS19 General Manager Mark Kurtz said. “Their dedication and experience will allow us to continue building on the successes that Cheryl and the team have created over the last few years.”
