Fox Bosses Lay Out ‘New Fox’ Plans

Fox TV Group chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman on Thursday outlined more of the vision for “New Fox”, the Fox Broadcast Co. after its sister studio 20th Century Fox TV, along with other key 21st Century Fox assets, move to Disney in the pending acquisition. “We want to be [studios] first choice among the four networks,” Walden said. “We will be the only network to be operating completely independently. It will have the ability to pick up the best shows without any studio agenda.”

‘The Originals’ Series Finale Holds Steady

The series finale of The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals closed out steady in the Wednesday overnight ratings. Airing at 9 p.m., The Originals drew a 0.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 870,000 viewers, even with last week’s episode and on par with what the show has averaged in Live+Same Day during its final season. The CW has already ordered the spinoff series Legacies, which will launch this October. Earlier on CW, Burden of Truth (0.2, 830,000) was also even.
